Tazel soon started auditioning for film and TV roles, and went on to land guest spots on "Sex and the City" (HBO, 1998-2004), "Third Watch" (NBC, 1999-2005), and "Law & Order" (NBC, 1990-2010). However, it wasn't long before the lure of Hollywood came calling. She started performing in plays in the early 2000s, and quickly made a name for herself as an exceptional actress. While living in New York, Tazel was actively involved in the city's thriving theater scene. from the school's prestigious Graduate Acting Program. She then continued her education at New York University, where she earned an M.F.A. After high school, she enrolled in Spelman College where she earned her B.A.
